Bridesmaids Duties in Detail

Bridesmaids Duties in Detail

Bring a bridesmaid is a huge part of any wedding, on hand to comfort, console, multi-task, and making sure that you are president at all bridal events. Here is a little checklist to make sure you are doing all the proper things to be a great bridesmaid.

  1. Offer to help with pre-wedding tasks. Try to be specific when you volunteer. For example, say, “Would you like me to help you shop for bridesmaid dresses/stuff invitations/pack for the honeymoon?” instead of just, “What can I do?”
  1. Scout out bridesmaid dresses, shoes, jewelry, and other accessories. Pay for the entire ensemble. (Break in your shoes before the wedding day — that will minimize slipping, blisters, and aching tootsies.)
  1. Help to plan, co-host, and pay for the shower and help party with other bridesmaids.
  1. If the maid/matron of honor isn’t already handling this task, keep a record of all the gifts received at various parties and showers (so that the bride/couple can write thank you notes); maintain RSVP lists.
  1. Attend the ceremony rehearsal. (Keep abreast of all pre-wedding parties, and go to as many as possible.)
  1. Run last minute errands. On the day of the wedding, be on hand to confirm flower delivery times, meet and greet the ceremony celebrant, or satisfy junk food cravings.
  1. Stand in the receiving line at the bride’s request.
  1. Serve as auxiliary hostess at the reception by introducing guests, making sure they know where the bar is located, and inviting them to sign the guest book.
  1. Hit the dance floor when the music kicks in. Dance with groomsmen during the formal first dance sequence. Also, be on the lookout for toe-tapping guests who might need encouragement and/or a dance partner.
  1. Give the maid/matron of honor a break by helping to carry the bride’s train whenever necessary. Bustle the train before dancing begins, and be ready to help fix it if it comes unhooked. Accompany the bride on visits to the restroom, if asked.
  1. Purchase a wedding present perhaps with one or several of the other bridesmaids. This provides more buying power, and two heads are better than one when it comes to gift ideas. Sometimes the entire bridesmaid troupe pitches in for one knock-her-socks-off wedding gift.
  1. Be a trooper, no matter how stressful the ordeal becomes. Try not to complain about the bridesmaid dress — even if the color is horrendous. Be gracious and tactful.
  1. Provide plenty of emotional support during the planning and on the wedding day.

Yes, its winter and one of the most beautiful times. The scenery is white and so fluffy, the wedding dresses just look great with the color air. I know there are some down sides to this wonderland wedding but you can find different things that with take place of them that you are worrying about. for example instead of having cares that might be dangerous of roads you could have a house drawn carriage that brings people around the grounds.

Costly Weddings

The Average Wedding Costs $25,000

There’s nothing more heartwarming than celebrating the act of two people joining together in marriage. A couple’s wedding day is full of memories that last a lifetime for all people involved. Unfortunately, the average wedding cost has sky rocketed in recent years, according to experts from the wedding industry making it more difficult to save money and pay for this dream event.

After you and your significant other announce your engagement and begin to tally the overall cost of your wedding, you have reason for concern if your budget reaches $25,000 or more.  After some research, you might be shocked by the fact that the average cost of a wedding in the U.S. is equal to a brand new car or a down payment on a home (The Wedding Report).

But the truth is a wedding doesn’t need to cost anywhere near $25,000, you just need to plan properly — a couple can definitely cut wedding costs and still celebrate their nuptials in style  on wedding costs in the thousands versus tens of thousands.

Let’s break down the range of costs an average American might pay for a wedding that includes 100 people. In this way, we can show you where to save:

  • Wedding License: $35 (cost varies by state)
  • DJ: $100 to $300 per hour ($500 – $1,500 for 5-hour reception)
  • Photographer: $750 to $10,000
  • Catering: $20 to $350 per person ($2,000 to $35,000)
  • Flowers: $400 to $5,000
  • Reception venue and decorations: $300 to $10,000
  • Cake: $1.50 to $12 per slice ($150 to $1,200)
  • Dress: $100 to $5,000
  • Tuxedo: $100 and up
  • Officiate: $200
  • 2 Wedding Bands: $200 to $3,000
  • Invitations: $100 to $5,000

Some people prefer to hire a wedding planner  to handle the details of the event.

In this case, your cost is going up by another $1,500 to $5,000. Other ways that could boost the cost of your weddings that were not listed would be: the videographer, rental car/limo, hair and makeup, bridal shower, bachelor party and wedding favors.

Perfect Wedding Day Attire

Perfect Wedding Day Attire

Finding the wedding dress of your dreams just got a little easier! There is a compiled list of the best online resources for finding your perfect wedding day attire.

Your wedding dress will probably be the most special clothing that

you will ever own and wear. There are a few things that you can look for to ensure that you are getting a fine quality bridal gown.

The best bridal dresses are created from natural materials, primarily silk. Watch out for dresses that use the word silk in their

description, but do not clearly state that they are made of silk. Designers will often use terms like “Italian silk” to make a silk blend or even a synthetic fabric sound more luxurious than it really is. When in doubt, look for the tag inside the gown that lists the contents. The more silk, the better.ill ever own and wear. There are a few things that you can look for to ensure that you are getting a fine quality bridal gown.]

On a well made gown, all of the

outside seams will be nicely finished. You should not see any puckering (patches of thread bring shown) along the bust or side seams. There should be no loose threads hanging out from seams and below the hem. If there is embroidery or beadwork, it should be well aligned over the side seams with no loose beads and threads.

Your bridal dress should make you feel you’re most beautiful and be comfortable as well. A fine-quality gown will go a long way towards helping you achieve both of those things.

After you figure out your prefect dress, you want to start making sure your bridesmaids feel and look just as beautiful. But still making sure they don’t drown out the brides dress. The brides’ maid’s dresses normally are tied in with the color theme.

But we can’t forget about the men. Men have it a little easier then woman. But also they can’t just be forgotten about till the last minute. Getting the men done first is your best bet.

Forever Begins Today

When Two Become One

For the date, to the time, to the place, to the setting this is what makes the BIG day one of the most special. It all starts when he pops the question and the journey starts. In this article you will find the things that will help your wedding processes go correctly, and you will know that the top five most important wedding things to get done before the big day.

First thing to do is look at the main topics: Rehearsal Dinner, Ceremony, Reception, Flowers, and Stationery. In each topic there are about 30-40 things under each checklist. In this article I will just some up the main points on each and you can click on the links to get to further detail in each topic.

Rehearsal Dinner:  This is just everything that makes the pre wedding dinner perfect. You may think that you don’t need to go and put a lot of time in this but you do everything in your wedding should be important. This is showing your wedding party that you are ready for this wedding. If

your rehearsal dinner is fabulous, then the wedding should be ten times better.

Ceremony: This part of the wedding is the part get has the most meaning. It’s the part that declares the renal of the two souls. Picking the setting is mainly for the ceremony part of the wedding. The Ceremony is the beginning of the wedding and when the guesses see the bride in her dress for the very first time.

Reception: The ‘party time’ as my father would always say. Hearing this I think food, cake, wine, dancing. The newly found couple come together and great the guessed and enjoy the beginning of their life together.

Flowers: The flowers are what put the colors and the setting into the pretty

picture. People normal pick two to three colors together. The last wedding I went to her colors was green and red. The way she tied it all together was she wore red ruby slippers. Color plus flowers as you will notice at weddings the bride and groom have the flowers and colors matching everything.

Stationery: The first time I was this word I did not know what it was. It’s the gifts and thank you letters. The biggest Stationery is the invitation. People spend so much time putting these together to make them the first thing the guessed get a glimpse of for the wedding.
